I needed good headphones for my home studio, and these were recommended from a music store. I was surpised that a good set of reference headphones could costs only R300. When I got home and plugged them in, I realised that I purchased absolute rubbish. Not a total loss, as I am using them as an extra set of headphones for when I record with other people.
Do yourself a favour - pick up a pair of M-Audio Q40s. For R1000 it is a seriously good deal for what you are getting. It compares well with serious stuff like the medium to high classed AKGs
